Peebles is a town of about 8000 inhabitants, with the River Tweed running through it. It’s easy to see why it was recently ranked as the best town in Scotland, as it’s full of small town charm, and is less than an hour drive from Edinburgh. You can stand at one end and see the other, where the buildings abruptly end and the land goes on as hill and grass. It seems like every other store is a charity shop where people can donate their old clothes, toys, board games, and other sundries.

The main street. I’d say “downtown”, but I think the whole town is downtown.

I love these benches under the archways, as I’m sure the young couples do too on Friday night.

Every store that sells ice cream seems to have a big cone outside the store, with a flake inserted into it.

Four friends sitting on a park bench with their fish and chips.

On the way home. Sheep litter the landscape, often wandering on the roads.

I would be very tempted to go snuggle some sheep. So fluffy! Although they likely smell.
I want to feel what it’s like to comb one! But the young ones are really skittish and wouldn’t let you come close, and the older, bigger ones are pretty aggressive. And yeah, they probably don’t smell great.
If you go to the agriculture museum in spring, around Easter, you can! They are used to lots of people so they are quite friendly.
Those benches under the bridge seem like private rooms. What a great idea! Well, maybe, ahaha. :)
SO FLUFFFY!!! They look adorable. I petted sheep like that once on someone’s farm, where they were used to being petted, and was surprised to find my hand getting softer and softer with lanolin from its coat.
WOAH…I need to buy a sheep now…sounds like a indefatigable source of hand moisturizer!
