Mother I'd Like To Fool Around With

It seems like I’m running into more and more attractive, older women lately. By older, I mean older. Like Julianne Moore or Jodie Foster around-40-but-still-attractive older.

I try to explain this to Trolley, and he gives me the squinted eyes look, as if he’s thinking, “Forty? Did he just say forty? Maybe he meant fourteen. But that’s even worse! Where’s my beer?”

I think it just comes from the fact that these women are still physically attractive at a stage in their lives that’s generally not associated with that sort of thing. I can appreciate the fact that they keep in shape at their age, even after they’ve had kids. I suppose that it’s a bit of a correlation, that they’re willing to work on such things for their husbands, and that’s what stands out to me. Maybe I’m just sick of the girls I meet that are my age.

  1. At the risk of sounding like an angry feminist, what the hell makes you think they do it for their husbands? I expect more from you.

  2. Acks… forty? :P Tha’s quite.. er old..
    yeah sarah’s right
most of them just probably work on the self preservation for themselves. heheheeeeeeeeee

  3. How about because the pressures of the movie industry and society are such that if they aren’t scrawny waifs, they can kiss their chances of ever working in Hollywood again goodbye? It’s difficult enough because they’re older, even with their prestige and such for the actresses they are, let alone if they were large.

  4. I know, I actually have no clue what these women do it for. It doesn’t have to be just physical looks, it can be anything that shows that they’re willing to do something for the relationship (but since I just meet these women and don’t get to know them very much, it’s the only thing I go on).

It works the other way as well. I have a great respect for men who are in good shape in their 40s, who have worked hard to not have the sagging belly that comes out of nowhere. I like to think that they’re doing it to for their wives, because it’s something that I’d like to do as well if I ever get married.

I know that none of this may be true, that some people from both sexes may have their shapes without exercising. I’d just like to think that these women are doing out of love, not because they’re selfish, not because their husbands force them to, and definitely not because it’s what a woman “should” do.

If I’m still viewed as chauvinistic, then there’s not much I can do about that.

I wasn’t talking about actual movie stars, I was using them as an example of the general age of the women I’m meeting, but I agree with the point.

  5. Hrm…is it just me, or are people reading WAY too much into a single comment?
