Filmed another lovely wedding.
There were lots of fantastic little details, especially in the way people interact with their hands, but my favourite moment is when the pastor does a little tilt, mimicking the kiss between the new husband and wife.
I love the bride dipping the groom. Your wedding films are like a fantasyland, so lovely, so otherworldly.
Thanks! I added some extra colour grading, which is what gives it that classic cross-processed look.
This is so well done Jeff. I’d marry all over again if I can get you to film the ceremony :) I was recently asked to be THE photographer at a friend’s wedding. I was quite nervous, but the photos turned out OK. It was my first time shooting a wedding, now I have whole new respect for wedding photographers. It’s so hard to capture those little things that make the moment. You really just have to have an “eye” for that type of subtle details. Kudos!
I think it’s a very risky move to photograph a friend’s wedding. One time I read on a photography forum that the fastest way to ruin a friendship is to be a wedding photographer; there’s just so much that can go wrong, and for something so critical. Good for you that you pulled it off. I completely understand the cost of wedding photography being justified for the amount of risk involved.
yeah it’s risky for sure. I strongly insisted that they hire a pro, and I’d be glad to serve as a secondary. But they had budget issue which was understandable. My friend did rent me a $1800 lens (Nikon 24–70mm f/2.8G AF‑S ED) which helped a great deal considering the indoor lighting wasn’t too great and i don’t own any fast lenses.
Wow, have you used that lens before? I find I have to practice for months before using a lens for any paid jobs. Each one has it’s own quirks and characteristics. An added risk is the compulsion to buy these toys when we have to return them. :)
Jeff, thank you for the beautiful work you produced for Amy and me! The creativity (and patience) you put into the story of our special day must have not been an easy task! I posted the video on Facebook to share with friends and family that could not attend our wedding. All I can say is that the feedback has been incredibly positive and they love your work! Thanks again and I will definitely recommend your work to others!
I’m so glad you guys are happy with it!
Very beautifully shot. Loved the music. Quite a coincidence i saw my first clip of “iz” two days ago.
I’ve never seen a clip of Bruddah Iz myself, only an album cover. You have a music video to recommend?
