Sometimes, you stab yourself in the hand with a point, but it’s not sharp enough to break the skin.
Sometimes, the blood comes to the surface, and this is as much of yourself as you can show the world.
Sometimes, the pavement is covered in snow outside, and you can drive over 100kph in one spot before the traction kicks in.
Sometimes, you scare yourself with your recklessness.
Sometimes, you realize that life is pain.
Sometimes, you have nothing left but numbness and resolve.
The good thing about setbacks is if you can endure them you come out a stronger man… or so the cliche goes.
I’ll definitely be stronger when this is all over.
The one thing nice about your reaction to the difficulties you encounter is that I never fear you’re going to explode and disappear like a drummer from a metal band, or jump off a roof with an umbrella, or try to wipe out half of town from a tower with a shotgun.
I like that about you.
Not when I have a place to write, at least. Otherwise, who knows how I’d lash out.
