Artist’s Statement

“My goal is to evoke emotion from the viewer. I want every photograph to become an interactive piece of art that challenges one to examine the way he or she views the world. Satisfaction comes from knowing that a person is changed before they walk away from my work.

To do this, I make my work unique but accessible. I use colours to their fullest potential, I mix textures to draw attention, I compose to precisely say what I want, and I use depth-of-field to lead the viewer in.

I’m currently exploring the use of contrasting elements to challenge our ideas of esthetics. I want to bring to attention the paradox that destruction, decay, and pain can give us beauty, growth, and joy.”
