Some portraits of Tatiana. As a person into voyeurism (more specifically, on the end being observed), she’s more comfortable with her clothes off than on. I love working with people who are comfortable with their bodies. You get total creative freedom, instead of the frustration of having to walk on eggshells, lest you offend a model’s sensibilities.
I’ve discovered that when doing nude photography, you need to open up the aperture so that a greater portion of the person is in focus than in conventional portraits. If you focus on only the eyes, you lose the nudity and it becomes a distraction. If you focus on nakedness, you lose the eyes and it becomes vulgar.

A good photographer like Jeff makes an already lovely young woman even more appealing to the eye. Now I have something to give thanks for on Thanksgiving Day as you’ve put a twinkle in an old bear’s eye.
I’ve always believed that beauty comes from more of the model than the photographer. When capturing a less-than-attractive person, there isn’t much a photographer can do to make them look better. Although, there are a few angles that may be a touch more flattering (I’m reminded of the Seinfeld episode where his attractive girlfriend walks around naked, but loses all appeal when coughing or opening a jar of pickles).
Not!Work!Safe! (yipes, give us a warning next time-I know it’s just portraiture with which I’m perfectly comfortable but people I’m around would have a complete cow.)
Beautiful of course. But then you always find the beautiful ones. Not surprising.
Sorry, it was Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, so I thought most people would be at home.
And of course she’s beautiful. I only take pictures of beautiful people. :)
Yup, not in the wonderful land of snow. Darn.
Bless you heart Jeff…bless your heart.
I expect hugs the next time I see you.
Wow, these are stunning photos … so much detail.
I’d love to have ones like this done of me one day — kind of a record of the body before time and aging gets the better of it.
There have been a few women past their prime who’ve told me they wish they had photos of when they were younger, so they could remember when they once looked fresh and nubile.
I think the same thing applies to pregnancy photos. You don’t get to experience something like that too many times in your life. It’s nice to have a record of such times or changes.
Yes, pregnancy photos a la Demi Moore?
It would be a shame not to have photos taken at some point soon … before everything starts migrating south for an extended winter :(
I’d also want to have my pregnacy (when and if it happens) caught on film as well … so happy to know someone so talented to help with these things (ahem … Jeff). :)
Actually, I was thinking more like PREGASAURUS!
As for the filming the pregnancy, I hope you mean the birth, and not the conception! :D (Or do I?)
Ahh — I am old school. To me — film can mean video, or as I meant it in this case film as in film photography. (So old school!). :)
To be honest … I think it is strange that women (like me) who would never in a million years be comfortable with video documentary of their vaginas (under any circumstances — in its normal and or aroused state) be comfortable with a document of a giant baby head coming out of said vagina!
But that’s just me — doesn’t make sense. :)
Just saw the Pregasaurus photos — she is beautiful … and actually quite tiny framed with a beautiful big belly!
I totally understand what you mean about being comfortable when naked during pregnancy. That makes total sense to me. It’s the same way it’s accepted to show baby butts in diaper commercials or Anne Geddes prints, but as soon as a child hit a certain age, it suddenly becomes inappropriate. It’s our own bias that society puts on these things that makes them tainted, and it’s hard to see bodies as anything but sexual with that bias. Luckily, pregnancy remains a sacred, beautiful thing to people like you and me.
Don’t get me ooohing and ahhhing about cute naked baby butts! My clock is ticking loud enough already! (don’t tell Mark … he might go running lol).
god damn WHAT EARINGS !!
Those earrings on her breasts of course!
I appreciate the photography, but a lot of people read your site at work. You might want to consider adding a “Read more” and warning people before they click it that it contains nudity ;)
I didn’t realize how many people read my site at work! I’ll put the nudity behind the cut next time.
Jeffrey didn’t think ahead far enough in terms of the internet habits of his loyal readers. In his defense, it’s not very professional to be a “all a twitter” or read blogs at work and some employers get right crabby if they catch you doing so. It’s also worth remembering that some employers keep tabs on what is being viewed on company equipment through spyware… so best not to risk being reprimanded — or worse — for the sake of a virtual boobie or two, no matter how well photographed it/they may be.
They way I figure it — if the site isn’t blocked by the company web manager(s) …then everything is fair game!
Besides — if the company and tech staff have so much time on their hands that they have the resources to ‘spy’ on employees internet brousing habbits (everyone needs a mental break once in a while) — then that is a company I am sure a lot of people would prefer not to work for.
Word. :)
Hmm, just wondering what kind of a facial expression should a nude model put on.
