I know it might sound pretty maudlin, but I can't think of a better way to leave the planet than what's surrounding her. When I go, I will most likely have but a very few friends and no relatives at all. I think everything you're able to share with her is lovely.

I would tell her sun tai gin hong, but I know it's kind of moot. But say it anyway for me, will you?

I still feel connected to home, through the e-mails people have been sending me and the comments on this blog. It's very comforting right now.

Many people have been telling me to wish my grandma the best for them, and I've been passing the messages along to her. She feels famous because so many people know about her. :)

Even though we don't see each other much even when we live so close it's very strange to think you're so far away right now. Everything you're posting is absolutely fascinating though. I wish you could be experiencing all of this under better circumstances.

Tell your grandma that one of your white friends back home wishes her well. I wonder what she would think of that... :)
