Photo Daze

I can’t believe it’s only Wednesday. The week is passing by at a snail’s pace. I’ve been overwhelmingly busy and exhausted.

So far, I have 11+ gigs and 1650+ photos on my hard drive for the exposition alone. I’ll be using about ten of them. As the show is about a month away, I’m trying to wrap up the photography by next week. That should give me enough time to work with the photos, then get them printed and framed before they’re hung in the gallery.

The rest of this week’s schedule is as follows.

  • Thursday: Tai Chi class
  • Friday: Show at Irene’s Pub (Krista and Shane are in town again)
  • Saturday: Getting some photos printed, meeting Shirley at her work, photoshoot with Jaimee
  • Sunday: Extra-curricular Tai Chi practice, photoshoot with Jaqui

And some miscellaneous pictures I’ve taken in the last little while that I never had the time to post.

Dolly on the shag carpet.

Me and John at Christmas.

A baguette sandwich.

Ceramic angel.

Starbucks card.

Bronwen with short hair.

Construction site on Bank street.

heh, my first impression of the last picture was that i was looking at a lego display.

Hey, Jeff,

you posted awhile back something about weight, underweight, and stuff like that. That first picture of you and your friend–you do not look like you have weight issues at all. You look nicely healthy and handsome.

Your photos are awesome. What camera do you use?

I want to find a digicam/slr that does lomo-like photos without having to rework too much in aperture or CS2.

@fathima — I can totally see that. The wide angle really compresses all the angles and lines, making the relative scale smaller.

@Mae Ko — I’m not totally underweight, but on the lower end of the “average” scale. I’m very light and thin in the waist area though. Since I’m skinny, any weight fluctuation show up pretty obviously, and I was eating decently (i.e. not sick) around the time the photo was taken.

I’m currently using a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I don’t think any decent digicam will do lomo-like photos because the lomo effect (hyper-saturation, off-exposure, and vignetting) is considered distortion. I know it’s not digital, but your best bet would be to actually get a lomo. :) Either that or you can just create a Photoshop action to make the effect for you automatically.

I have a Lomo! And a Holga. But I think real cameras actually take MUCH better photos…

I’m sure I could use a CS2 action, but the problem is that my computer is just so shitty it can’t handle the program.

My computer’s just an iBook. … it’s almost 2 years old, too.
