Never Too Busy To Write

Posted in: Daily Life | Tags:

One of my greatest fears is that this will fall into desuetude. I doubt it’ll happen though, because I’d try my best to keep this in practice, but one never knows. I’ve been too tired or busy lately to really write something. Writing is an effort for me, something I need to concentrate and focus on. I don’t like to publish haphazard material. I’m considering a break actually, until things settle down a bit, but I think I’d start to get a nagging feeling about not posting anything for two consecutive days.

As long as there is something to learn, there is something to write about.

Trolley got me a Dwarves pin with the skull and cross boners logo, so I bought a few Misfits pins to balance out my bag. I can’t believe how well done they are.

Director

One job I think I could do for the rest of my life is music editing for movies. I wouldn’t compose my own stuff (because I have no rhythm), but I’d find the right songs for the soundtracks. I like the idea of being an extension of the director, having him or her express themselves through me, presenting a scene in a particular way. And I think I’d be good at it, which isn’t something I say about a lot of things.

Cutsman

I’ve never heard a song that’s anything like Cutsman by HORSE The Band, something I can’t say for a lot of tracks out there now. It’s refreshingly original, and they make me think of a cross between The Epoxies, and Fear Factory. At times it’s paced and sullen, others it’s tearing the face off the sky. Yet there are melodic sections, aggressive sections, retro sections, raw sections. One of the most interesting songs I’ve heard in a while.

A Trip To Aaron's

The weekend was hectic. Went home with Aaron to visit his parents. I spent two days at his house, along with Karen and Chris, and six cats. The cats have their own hierarchy, with the brother (same litter) of the oldest cat being the alpha male (Aaron believes that there was a challenge because the oldest cat used to be the alpha male). When the alpha male decides to eat, the other cats will part and let him eat first. Otherwise, the cats pair themselves off for sleeping and exploring.

I also went to Jono’s wedding, which was nice and simple. Jonathan’s vow was…sublime. It was an amazingly well written piece, full of a thoughtful intelligence, and his cracking voice could barely contain his overflowing happiness as he read it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay for the reception, but the most important thing for me was being at the ceremony.

Every other moment was spent with Loo.
